INDUSTRY EVENT – READY-TO-WEAR MAKING 3.0
bezig met laden...
Last Wednesday 19th June, garment manufacturer WORKINGMENBLUES (WMB) hosted the industry event Ready-To-Wear Making 3.0 at Amsterdam’s freshly opened concept store ABOUT. on the de Clercqstraat.
Together with an ensemble of industry experts (CLO Virtual Fashion and Première Vision), WMB discussed today’s struggles in developing and manufacturing garments. But moreover, the audience were given tangible solutions and insights into some innovative ways to restructure their brand’s ready-to-wear making processes.
Founder of WORKINGMENBLUES, Aleks Kuijpers, kicked off the evening. The production specialist - operating in Amsterdam, Riga and Hangzhou – realises RTW for premium brands in France, UK and The Netherlands and was therefore the perfect source for a realistic sketch of the current RTW making landscape. Aleks also provided useful tips on answering to the bottle necks throughout the garment making process.
Following, VP of 3D software solution CLO Virtual Fashion, Lisa Kohlert, impressed the public with her presentation; demonstrating how actually very feasible it is to integrate 3D design into your design and development work. She’s proven that 3D design is not something for the future, but it is for now. Good to know, CLO also provides solutions for start-ups and freelance designers or product developers.
At last, Gaël Séguillon, the Marketplace Première Vision Director, shared key insights on how you can digitalise your supply chain on marketplace.premierevision.com, doing your samplings and orders by the meter online while benefiting from the assurance of dealing solely with Première Vision-screened and approved producers.
After the talks, ABOUT. showed to be the perfect venue for the event. As the soirée continued, the 100+ visitors enjoyed drinks and bites prepared by Cousine< and some nice tunes by DJ Nathalie Patty.
WMB’s Aleks Kuijpers is definitely up for making the Industry Talk a reoccurring event. “The number of industry professionals that showed interest and the positive replies afterwards, is proof that the Dutch fashion industry is longing for moments such as these; a relaxed after-work where you can actually learn and discuss where our market is going. Plus, it is refreshing to be able to network in a cool unforced setting as tonight. We are already planning for the sequel. Next time I would like to trigger more interaction during the talks.
