Besides fashion shows and exhibitions, the Amsterdam Fashion

Week also includes a variety of Business Programme events, which started yesterday. Together with FashionUnited the Amsterdam Fashion Week organized ‘Work in Fashion’, an inspiring workshop about how to find a job in fashion.

FashionUnited invited Dirk Bomas, buyer at Coolcat, and Elma O’Reilly, Talent Acquisition Director at Tommy Hilfiger. Both professionals shared their experiences and expertise about how to find a job in the fashion industry, customer philosophy, work environment, and the definition of success.

Dirk Bomas shared an inspirational story about his career path at Coolcat and some important values he believes will lead to personal success.
Elma O’reilly and colleague Sara Twedmark shared the Tommy story, from history to corporate culture and identity, and explained which qualities they are looking at when applying at Tommy Hilfiger.

Using its three pillars Connect, Grow and Celebrate Amsterdam Fashion Week strives to strengthen the Dutch fashion industry on all fronts. The Amsterdam Fashion Week Business Programme is aimed at stimulating the business climate, providing talent with opportunities and identifying developments within the industry.
