Amsterdam – Amsterdam Fashion Week presents its new business programme for the year 2013. The programme aims at both recently graduated fashion designers as well as designers who have already presented several collections. The first elements of this programme start during the 18th edition of Amsterdam Fashion Week in January 2013. Part of this programme is the Business & Fashion Networking Event ‘Keys to Success’.

Amsterdam Fashion Week Business Programme
The Business Programme of Amsterdam Fashion Week originated in 2009 from the need of fashion professionals for support in entrepreneurship. Amsterdam Fashion Week has together with the business community and semi-governmental organisations formulated six pillars for the business programme: entrepreneurship, internationalisation, innovation, sustainability, personal development and networking. Based on these pillars Amsterdam Fashion Week has selected the following Knowledge Partners:

Vodafone
ABN AMRO
AIM
Syntens
MADE-BY
Baker McKenzie
CBW MITEX
The Chamber of Commerce
Clifford Chance
Maussen Communications & Public Relations
MODINT
Meeùs
HTNK
Pakhuis de Zwijger
MMousse

Among the many guest speakers that take part in the various parts of the Business Programme are: Bruno Pieters (Honest by Bruno Pieters), Jacqueline Zuidweg (Business Woman of the Year 2012), José Teunissen (i.a. Lecturer Fashion Design at ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de kunsten in Arnhem) and Tony Tonnaer (Founder Koi Jeans). The various parts of the Business Programme of Amsterdam Fashion Week take place at several locations on the grounds of the Westergasfabriek, Principal Sponsor Vodafone, ABN Amro and in Pakhuis de Zwijger.

Parts of the programme
Amsterdam Fashion Week has a vast amount of programme-elements aimed at entrepreneurship and ‘doing business’. Some examples are: Vodafone Firestarters (talk shows about innovation and technology, supporting Dutch initiatives that give a new perspective and thereby create change), an e-commerce workshop for starters in the fashion industry, the Amsterdam Fashion Week Fasterclass (with workshops about retail & sales, finances and intellectual property), a workshop about sustainable change, an event targeted at the integration of creation with commerce, workshops about logistics & distribution, etc. etc. After participation in the Pitch Meeting – an encounter between designers and potential buyers and investors – fashion designer Antoine Peters responded enthusiastically that these activities make the various parties in the fashion- and related industries tangible: “the counter gets a face”.

Keys to Success: the Business & Fashion Networking Event of Amsterdam Fashion Week
Following the successful business event in July 2012, Amsterdam Fashion Week organises an even bigger and more extensive programme of Keys to Success in January 2013. This gathering is aimed at everyone who would like to build or maintain relations with parties within the fashion industry. All activities of Amsterdam Fashion Week are centred around the themes Connect, Grow & Celebrate. The activities bring together people who are interested in the fashion- and related industries, who work hard to help grow each other’s businesses, brands and the industry as a whole, and who celebrate all the beauty that arises from the initiatives of Amsterdam Fashion Week. Interesting speakers from leading businesses will be present to start a dialogue with the audience and give their vision on the developments in the fashion industry. Part of Keys to Success is a show of fashion designer Edwin Oudshoorn. This performance guarantees a spectacular closure of the programme. Tickets for Keys to Success, including the show of Edwin Oudshoorn, a drink and a bite on the Amsterdam Fashion Week grounds are for sale at € 125,- excluding VAT.
