Hong Kong Fashion Week opened today with a focus on knitwear. British - New Gen - designer Craig Lawrence will be showing his S/S 2012 collection tonight in the Hong Kong Fashion Extravaganza group show together with Macedonian designer Risto Bimbloski who is based in Paris but sells predominantly in the US, and Chinese designers Qi Gang from Shanghai and Hidy Ng from Hong Kong.

It's the 43rd edition of Hong Kong Fashion Week. In total 1645 exhibitors from 23 countries are showcasing their collections from 16 - 19 January. Hong Kong's exports of clothing and accessories have grown 2% in the first 11 months of 2011 to 22.4 billion US dollar. Imports grew 4% to 15.7 billion.
