PERFORMANCE DAYS: The perfect sourcing venue for designers, product managers and buyers

PERFORMANCE DAYS is the first and only fair created especially for performance fabrics and accessories for sportswear, athleisure and sportive fashion collections. The fair is held in Munich, conveniently located close to the Alpine region, in what is reputedly the most important fair grounds for the industry. Semi-annually about 3,000 attendees get together with around 300 of the leading textile manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers to experience the latest trends and innovations. Sourcing teams from the fashion industry especially appreciate the added value of functional fabrics presented in a curated selection of high quality materials – from yarns to fabrics, finishes, and accessories that exemplify the motto “Where Function Meets Fashion”.

Last year for the first time, the fair was organized and presented in the US as the Functional Fabric Fair powered by PERFORMANCE DAYS. In partnership with Reed Exhibitions, the fair was launched in NYC and will take place this year for the first time in Portland, OR on October 22-23, 2019.

The next fair in Munich on November 13-14, 2019 introduces something new: The PERFORMANCE FORUM will feature only sustainable materials. This trend display area is the core of the fair and showcases the latest and best material developments; all hand-selected by a panel of experts. Jury members for the upcoming fair include representatives from Haglöfs and Hess Natur. The jury is not only looking for the most innovative, but also most sustainable products. Only fabrics and accessories that have proven to be sustainable will be displayed in the PERFORMANCE FORUM.

The Sustain & Innovate Conference will be launched on Day 2 of the fair. This Sustainability Congress is exclusively and comprehensively dedicated to the topic of sustainability, covering key aspects in various talks and panel discussions. In addition, the next Focus Topic is “GREEN EVOLUTION I Innovations for a Sustainable Future”. The detailed information on the Focus Topic Wall rounds out the PERFORMANCE FORUM items as well as the Sustainability Conference topics.

On Day 1 of the fair, there is a complimentary educational program of Expert Talks focusing on trends, fabrics, technologies and including Workshops and Guided Tours. The Expert Talks are all provided online as podcasts. Interested in the new trend colors? One of the Expert Talks will be about the color trends for Winter 2021/22. The PERFORMANCE COLORS by Nora Kühner is the first color card of the season and is much more than just an ordinary trend color card. It provides not only the trend colors, but also the background stories, hints to fabric textures and surfaces as well as color combinations and inspiring graphics. It also offers the light and washing fastness for polyesters, cottons, and polyamide 6.
